Life in the Classroom: A Conversation about being a Teacher in Modern Day America with Miss J.

In episode 43, we sit down with Miss J. to talk about her experience as a teacher, her perspective of our country's education system, and why she decided to leave the profession.

Miss J. has dedicated seven years of her life to teaching. She embarked on her classroom-teaching journey by specializing in math and science instruction at a private school, catering to students in 6th-12th grade.

In 2018, she enrolled in her Master's degree in math education and special education. This allowed her to transition to a position within the New York State Public Schools, where she spent the next two years working with high school students in math.

Last year, Miss J. decided to relocate to Maryland to be closer to her family. During this time, she taught Geometry in the Maryland Public School System. However, recently, she made the difficult decision to step away from teaching.
