She's Running: A School Board Candidate's Journey with Lindsey Wyckoff

In episode 55, we talk with Lindsey Wycoff who is running for her local school board in North Canton, Ohio. She shares what a role on a school board looks like, the highs and lows of her campaign, and how we can support the public school system in this country. 

Lindsey is a relationship-oriented marketing communications professional who has more than 17 years of experience working with individuals and brands in the sports, entertainment, and non-profit industries. She is currently the Director of Regional Integrated Marketing for the American Cancer Society after serving in multiple roles at Kids In Need Foundation, an organization focused on providing free school supplies and learning resources to teachers and students in under-resourced schools. Prior to roles at the American Diabetes Association and a boutique marketing agency, she directed corporate communications for the New Orleans Pelicans and Saints. Advocacy work has become a priority for Lindsey outside of her full-time job. She is the Legislative Lead for Akron/Canton for Moms Demand Action, working to advocate for legislation to end gun violence. She also serves as a fundraising and communications specialist for SheJumps, volunteers locally with Queer in Canton, and is on the board of StarkFresh.
